Bart and Katie Olthoff both attended Iowa State University before marrying in 2006.  They made their home in Ames, IA, until building turkey barns in 2009.

Bart is a 3rd generation turkey farmer who knows what it means to dedicate himself to livestock.  Seven days a week, he looks after his birds, making sure they are always comfortable.  He uses his background in animal science and experience at the USDA to keep up on the latest science in disease prevention and treatment.  He works with experts in the field to use the latest technology to care for his birds.  Bart is committed to improving animal welfare on his farm.

Katie, a former teacher, works part time at her own business “The HomeShed,” volunteers for CommonGround, and writes at On the Banks of Squaw Creek. Katie’s blog is a mix of her creative endeavors and info about her farm and family.
