My hubby and I recently made the BIG decision to move into and switch houses with his parents who live right around the corner on our farm.
But before we make the BIG move, we are planning a pretty major remodel of this gorgeous 1oo-year old farmhouse. It’s a big (and slow…) project and I have a lot of ideas swirling around in this big ol head of mine. But where do I go for new, fresh inspiration?
The World Wide Web (is that even the right name, anymore?!), of course!! I can literally spend hours pinning DIY projects on Pinterest and finding color inspiration on my favorite DIY blogs.
I want a few of these awesome DIY bloggers to just take over my house project! But since that probably isn’t likely to happen, I’m just planning on stealing a few of their very cool ideas! Stay tuned to my blog for updates on our old, but new farmhouse reno!
To narrow it down a little, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite DIY blogs and websites, below.

Check out Jae’s blog for some gorgeous home beautification projects that don’t break the bank! Umm, yes please! I love her home, her style and of course, her blog!
Knock Off Decor
I love Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware and Ballard Designs. But I don’t love the price tags. Even with a 15 percent coupon I still feel like I’m spending way too much money. So I prefer to find items that just look expensive, but don’t break the bank. Better yet, taking an old forgotten dresser at a yard sale, cleaning and painting it to look Pottery Barn vintage. This is what Beckie’s blog is all about. Check it out!
On the Banks of Squaw Creek
Miss Katie is a part of our Real Farmwife of America community. She and her husband raise turkeys in Iowa. She also has a real knack for home design recycling and reusing cool old stuff, making her 100-year old country home look vintage mod. Check out her blog for practical tutorials on turning your home into a shabby chic farmhouse!
House of Hepworths
Allison lives in a cookie-cutter house, but this blog chronicles her journey to turn it into a custom dream house on a thrifty budget. Now you’re cooking. Explore HoH for lots of great DIY home project tutorials!
HGTV (ok, not a blog, but still an awesome site!)
Like I can log some serious time on Pinterest, I also don’t mind catching an episode or two on HGTV. But have you ever checked out their website. Ummm … go, now, it’s awesome and quite expansive!
