One of my favorite holidays is Easter. It’s a wonderful time of year and a blessed time of year. The weather is finally changing and what a wonderful reminder of what our God has given us but eternal salvation.

In our house we celebrate this time of year with lots of stories of Christ and his sacrifice. As well as talking about the Easter bunny. And also, I may get a little carried away making Easter surprises for all the kids in my life!

Another fun part of Easter? Church on Sunday, followed by a brunch with loved ones. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Sundays. I love surrounding ourselves with our loved ones. I love spending the day with my nieces and nephews. And I love seeing how excited they are about the entire day.

I have already been thinking about what I plan to bring on Sunday. And I couldn’t help but start perusing all of my favorite bloggers’ sites. I just can’t resist sharing a few of these yummy dishes.

One thing us corn farmers always have in abundance around here is corn. Mainly for our cattle, but we do plant some sweet corn every year and I have a freezer stocked full that I can’t wait to use to try out this recipe from 3 kids and lots of pigs. Fried Corn Chowder. Can we say yum?!

Another staple that seems to be around the table at Easter? Ham. I think this is a fun, and pretty, looking twist to a family favorite. Ham & Pineapple Kabobs from GOODENESSgracious.

And since I was already at her blog I decided to take a look at the chocolate category. This¬†Super Easy Pudding Cake has our family’s name all over it.

And in case you are looking for something simple, but still offers that same yummy, home cooked feel, you have to try my Favorite Chicken Dinner. Your mouth and belly will be so, so happy. And it’s a perfect dish to throw in right before church to come home to!

Were you brave this year? If you tried a new recipe, or an old favorite, I’d love to hear about it!
