Memorial Day is almost here and that is the unofficial beginning of Summer.  I know I always look forward to Memorial Day.  Not only is it race weekend in Indiana, it also puts me in the “Summer spirit” and we love summer in this family.  My birthday always usually falls around Memorial Day too, so that’s an added bonus!

The three day weekend means a lot of us will be firing up those grills and hosting parties to show off our culinary skills.  I’ve gathered some of our favorite grilling and pot-luck recipes to share with you and, hopefully, make your party a little easier so you can sit back and enjoy the kick-off to sweet summertime!

First up is this yummy recipe for Basil Lime Chicken from Cris at Goodeness Gracious

Sometimes when you are grilling, it’s all about the marinade!   Cris shares another favorite with us, Best Chicken Marinade Ever.  It’s gotta be good!  Its title even says so!

Miss Leah from Beyer Beware shows us not only how to grill the perfect steak, but which type of steak is the best to buy!

Leah also shares her Sweet and Spicy Pork Grilling Rub

Amy from a Latte’ with Ott, A grills up some yummy Italian Hamburgers

And what is a cookout without some delicious sides?  We’ve collected some of our favorites just for you!

Here is Jent’s Seriously Amazing Mac& Cheese and it is seriously amazing!  Trust me!

The next two recipes come from Cris (same Cris, just a different site) of Recipes that Crock.  Both of them can be made in the crockpot.  How great is that?

Baked beans are the perfect side for any cookout.  Check out these Party Beans from Cris…

And this Corn Casserole

No cookout is complete without dessert.  These simple fruity desserts scream summertime!

Strawberry season is just around the corner, so be sure to whip up this delicious Strawberry Poke Cake from Yours Truly…
