It’s hard to believe this year is drawing to an end and the holidays that end our year are just around the corner! This year we are traveling back to my home state, Indiana, so I don’t have much to plan but in year’s past there are a number of recipes that are always a staple it seems on our table. I have rounded up a few recipes that I think are perfect for the Thanksgiving table.

It’s pretty much a given in our family you will always find mashed potatoes and corn casserole on our supper table. So, I wanted to share these two recipes that are simple to prepare. And take little time to cook!

Corn Casserole

This is the staple dish I bring to every family gathering. My grams gave me a cookbook with the recipe years ago and my family love it!

Creamy Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes

These are pretty close to the recipe I use for my crockpot mashed potatoes and I have to say this takes out a decent amount of work if I say so myself. I love not having to even worry about anything cooking on the stove. And I love just throwing everything in and letting things melt on their own. Easy Peasy.

Green Bean Casserole

This seems like another staple at most family gatherings, so it seems only right to share a recipe here! This is the recipe I use from Betty Crocker’s website. I always have, and I figure I always will because whatever is easy, is easy! Ha!

Deep Fried Turkey

Last year I picked up a Butterball turkey fryer at a rummage sale. My husband had been wanting one for awhile, but our other deep fat fryer worked fine so I didn’t see the point. We didn’t break it out of the box until Thanksgiving and we deep fat fried our turkey. And as bad as that may sound, it was oh so delicious! It was so seriously amazing that I cannot wait to cook another turkey in it, when we finally will be around to eat an entire turkey!

When we started the entire process we pulled up the Butterball website and followed their suggestions, worked like a charm! We didn’t season or do anything we just cleaned out the giblets and threw it in the fryer- delicious!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

And what is Thanksgiving without a dessert? Especially, something pumpkin related! We love pumpkin in our house and these pumpkin cheesecake bars from Roxanna are delicious- I can attest to that! Made and were definitely on my make again list!
